Many thanks for this – my retractable USB cable wasn’t behaving itself and I was able to stow it back in the case before it broke.

Thanks for the useful guide. I have a problem with the USB connection… I knew the flimsy cable would wear out after a certain time and thanks to your guide I know that is the issue.

Was a good tip, but damaged the controler :o( If you need to open this case, go *NOT* deeper than 9mm into the case, because there is very small cable which will damage if you go deeper.

In my case I DON’T buy this crappy disk again !!

In my case, I change all the HDD enclosure.
Because Lacie don’t sell just the cable…

The HDD enclosure cost in France 13.10€

My cable is severed at the usb connector as well…Anyone know how to replace it? I’ll have to do it myself since my warranty ran out. lucky me
